Why I Ride

There’s a moment on every ride — usually when the road opens up, you've clicked into 6th gear, the engine settles into that steady low rumble, and the wind finds its rhythm — when everything in my life snaps into perfect focus. That’s why I ride. It’s not about speed or escape. It’s about clarity. It’s about that rare feeling of being fully present in the world, connected to the places I travel through and the people I meet along the way.

Motorcycling showed up in my life at a time when I needed a reset. I didn’t know it then, but throwing a leg over the bike would become one of the biggest sources of joy, confidence, and creativity I’ve ever found. Riding gives me space to think. It gives me stories worth telling. It reminds me I’m still capable of learning new things — and being humbled by them. And the older I get, the more I appreciate the simple truth that these machines don’t just move us forward across the map… they move us forward inside ourselves, too.

To me, a motorcycle is the closest thing we have to a time machine. Twist the throttle and you’re not just moving across miles — you’re slipping into another dimension. The world feels sharper out there: the scent of salt off the ocean, the whiff of marsh along the coastal roads, the warmth of the morning rising off the asphalt. On a bike, you don’t watch the world through a windshield… you enter it. It transports you not just through space, but into a different state of mind entirely — one that no “cage” could ever replicate.

This video — my 200th on YouTube — is my attempt to put all of those feelings into words. It’s personal. It’s honest. And it’s a thank-you to everyone who’s been riding along with :me, whether you’ve been here since the start or just joined the journey.
